Open Gardens and Events

Events at Oteley

On the shores of the Mere at Ellesmere is the beautiful location of Oteley Garden. Accessed via the rolling parkland and through the original Stable Yard, the 10 acre garden is home to an array of fantastic trees, shrubs and extensive lawn.

Within the garden are many features from the original house including a boathouse, tower and swiss cottage. The garden is one of a handful of gardens that first opened in 1927 when the National Garden Scheme was launched and has continued to open once a year to raise money for nursing charities ever since.

National Garden Scheme - Sunday 11th May, 10am - 4pm

Overlooking Ellesmere Mere, our garden first opened in 1927 when the National Garden Scheme started, and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of it again.

Our 10-acre garden has some stunning features to explore, including historical features like our clock tower and walled kitchen garden. There’s plenty of woodland, with old and interesting trees, Rhododendrons, azaleas, a wild woodland walk, and stunning views across the Mere.

Dogs are welcome on leads, and we have free parking on site.

The Oteley Farm Shop & Cafe will be open for local produce and refreshments.
